Description
Bo lives a quiet, solitary existence in a small rural village in the north of Sweden, his days punctuated by visits from his care team and his son. Although his body is failing him, he still has his rich memories, phone calls with his best friend Ture, and his beloved dog Sixten for company. However, tensions arise when his son insists that Sixten must be taken away, claiming Bo can no longer care for him.
This threat stirs a whirlwind of emotions in Bo, making him determined to resist and find his voice. As he faces his own mortality, Bo is desperate to mend his rocky relationship with his son before his time is up. This profoundly moving and life-affirming novel explores one man’s desire to preserve his autonomy and the complex bonds between fathers, sons, and the animals they love.
