Description
Every child knows that all mamas are unique! This gentle, heartfelt picture book explores the deep, sensory connection between children and their mothers through poetic language told from a child’s perspective. From infancy, a mother’s scent is a familiar, comforting presence that helps a child feel at home.
The story follows a young girl who muses on the memories held in her mother’s scent—happy days, rosy cheeks, and special celebrations. When she experiences separation anxiety at school, she is comforted by discovering her mother’s scarf tucked into her bag, which carries that familiar scent and makes her feel safe until they are reunited. The book features whimsical mixed-media collage illustrations by Palestinian artist Baraa Awoor.
