Description
Introduce early readers to the joys of independent literacy with this charming, full-color collection of illustrated short stories from Scholastic’s specialized Acorn imprint. The narrative introduces Sniff the dog and Scratch the cat, two unlikely animal housemates who are the absolute best of friends—most of the time. This volume bundles three highly engaging, pet-themed tales that follow the duo through everyday domestic capers.
Together, they must brainstorm creative problem-solving techniques to reach a delicious-smelling pie cooling high up on the kitchen counter, navigate a funny panic when Scratch accidentally becomes stuck inside a cardboard box, and cross paths with a pair of neighborhood animals who look exactly like them. Designed intentionally to boost reading fluency and confidence, the book incorporates easy-to-decode text, short sentence structures, and intuitive, color-coded speech bubbles. This interactive early reader turns basic speech drills into a playful, laugh-out-loud milestone for budding bookworms.
