Tracey West

American children's author of Dragon Masters

Dragons, magic and the discovery of unexpected abilities drive Tracey West's Dragon Masters books. The series follows children paired with dragons and combines continuing adventures with illustrated chapter-book storytelling. Born in 1965, West grew up in New Jersey and worked in children's publishing before building her writing career. Alongside Dragon Masters, she has written Pixie Tricks and stories based on familiar fictional worlds, including Pokémon. Her own account of becoming an author begins with a school visit from a children's writer, an early encounter that helped her imagine making books herself.
