Sarah J. Maas

American fantasy author of epic romance, fae courts and the Maasverse

High-octane battle sequences, courtly intrigue and intense romantic partnerships define the epic fantasy sagas of Sarah J. Maas. Born in New York City in 1986, Maas began writing Throne of Glass as a teenager, drawing inspiration from Cinderella before expanding it into an eight-book epic following assassin Celaena Sardothien. With A Court of Thorns and Roses and its acclaimed sequel A Court of Mist and Fury, she revitalized modern romantic fantasy, reimagining Beauty and the Beast through faerie politics and deep emotional healing. Her modern-urban fantasy series Crescent City, beginning with House of Earth and Blood, bridges her fictional worlds. Readers interested in rich fantasy lore and found families can begin with A Court of Thorns and Roses.
