Sam Taplin

British children's author of Usborne sound and interactive books

Sam Taplin writes books that make turning a page only part of the activity. His work for Usborne includes sound books, touch-and-feel stories and interactive titles in which children look for details, press buttons or follow a simple game. He grew up in Yorkshire and began writing for the publisher after university. Don't Tickle the Lion!, Are You There Little Fox? and the Poppy and Sam books show different ways he combines a short text with illustration and physical features. His books give adults and children things to notice and respond to together during shared reading.
