Mitch Albom

American author, journalist and broadcaster of uplifting moral parables and grief

Gentle philosophical wisdom, poignant meditations on mortality and the enduring power of human connection define the inspirational fiction and memoirs of Mitch Albom. Born in New Jersey in 1958, Albom achieved widespread recognition as an award-winning Detroit sports columnist and broadcaster. His tender 1997 memoir, Tuesdays with Morrie, recounting weekly life lessons from his dying college professor Morrie Schwartz, became an enduring global publishing sensation. Albom translated this compassionate philosophy into bestselling allegorical novels, including The Five People You Meet in Heaven, The Next Person You Meet in Heaven and The Stranger in the Lifeboat. Readers seeking comfort and spiritual reflection should begin with Tuesdays with Morrie.
