Malcolm Gladwell

Canadian journalist and author exploring social psychology, behavioral trends and human intuition

Counterintuitive sociological insights, compelling anecdotes and behavioral science drive the transformative non-fiction of Malcolm Gladwell. Born in England in 1963 and raised in Ontario, Canada, Gladwell spent decades as a staff writer for The New Yorker, popularizing academic research through captivating storytelling. His groundbreaking book The Tipping Point explored how ideas spread like epidemics, while Blink unpacked unconscious cognition, Outliers investigated the hidden cultural conditions behind extraordinary success, and Talking to Strangers examined our misjudgments of others. Appointed to the Order of Canada in 2011, Gladwell challenges conventional wisdom about how societies function. Readers fascinated by social psychology should begin with Outliers or The Tipping Point.
