Jennifer Adams

American author of the BabyLit board-book series

Jennifer Adams takes inspiration from classic literature to create books for a very different audience: babies and young children sharing a page with an adult. Her BabyLit board books introduce early concepts through names, settings and images drawn from works such as Pride and Prejudice, Dracula and The Jungle Book. They are playful first encounters with literary worlds, rather than full editions of the original novels. Working with illustrators including Alison Oliver, Adams combines brief texts with visual opportunities for naming and noticing. Her children's writing also includes My Little Cities and picture books inspired by Edgar Allan Poe.
