Description
Neuromancer follows Case, a burned-out hacker hired for one more job in a future where corporations run more than governments do and consciousness can be uploaded, rented, or stolen. William Gibson wrote it in 1984 and gave the word “cyberspace” to the language in the process, along with most of the visual grammar later cyberpunk fiction and film would borrow wholesale. It’s sold more than 6.5 million copies since, and it opens the Sprawl trilogy that made Gibson’s name.
