Fighting wildfires is the only thing Callahan Woods has ever wanted to do, and as captain of an inter-agency hotshot crew, he’s one of the best. But five years ago, a tragedy on the line changed him forever, leaving him emotionally guarded and committed only to high-stakes work and easy nights with strangers. That changes when he meets Prescott "Scottie" Timmons, a new EMT in Sky Ridge with a sharp wit and an adventurous spirit. Just as Callahan begins to let his guard down, Prescott’s secretive past; marked by an escape from a cult-like religious group; threatens to ignite. When a life-or-death situation with Mother Nature leaves them stranded and forced to share a bed, they must decide whether to let their connection burn out or fight for the spark between them.
