Description
Is the second book in Lucy Maud Montgomery’s beloved “Anne of Green Gables” series, continuing the story of Anne Shirley from the age of 16 to 18. Having given up her scholarship to stay and help Marilla at Green Gables, Anne embarks on a new adventure as the schoolteacher in her cherished village of Avonlea, Prince Edward Island.
The novel follows Anne as she navigates the challenges and joys of teaching, still prone to her imaginative escapades but now with the added responsibility of guiding young minds. New characters enter her life, most notably the mischievous orphan twins, Davy and Dora Keith, whom Marilla takes in, providing both chaos and heartwarming moments. Anne also forms the “Avonlea Village Improvement Society” with her friends, leading to humorous and sometimes disastrous attempts to beautify the community.
